Yashwant Rai Grover is an Associate Partner at Inttl Advocare and currently heads the firm's trademark, copyright and design prosecution practice. He advises a broad mix of Indian and international clients, ranging from start-ups to established multinationals, across all sectors.

His practice centres on end-to-end brand and design protection, with particular emphasis on clearance searches, filing and prosecution strategy, portfolio structuring, and long-term global portfolio management. Yashwant is regularly involved in shaping filing and enforcement strategies across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with foreign associates and in-house teams to align IP protection with commercial objectives. He is particularly valued for his strategic approach to managing large and evolving portfolios, including advising on risk mitigation, consolidation, and expansion in key markets.

He is frequently involved in high-value and sensitive matters requiring nuanced advocacy and detailed evidentiary support. In design matters, he regularly appears before the Designs Office and advises on prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio planning, including strategy for emerging areas such as graphical user interfaces and digital designs.

Yashwant is actively engaged in the development of IP law and policy. He has contributed to professional discussions and consultations on trademark and design practice, and is closely involved with international IP organisations, reflecting his strong interest in harmonisation and comparative IP systems. At the domestic level, he serves as an Executive Member of the Intellectual Property Attorneys' Association (IPAA), where he is actively involved in stakeholder engagement and regularly contributes to discussions with regulatory authorities on practice-related issues and policy concerns. He is recognised for combining technical rigour with a practical, business-oriented perspective, and for his ability to communicate complex IP issues clearly to clients and stakeholders.

He received his law degree from Amity Law School, Noida. Thereafter, he graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York where he pursued Masters in Law (LLM) with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law. During his masters, Yashwant held a position of Vice President of Graduate Law Society and was also a member of the New York City Bar Association and South Asian Bar Association of New York. Having interned in prestigious companies such as PepsiCo, Airtel and Genpact along with working in both Indian and International law firms, Yashwant brings on the table a unique combination of skill sets to his legal expertise along with a client friendly approach.
